about

It must be fool's gold
And I know I shouldn't spend
You're just a friend
But I wanted to know you despite
How I think you'd
Throw me down.

I'd like to follow your lines
Feel you in a Mondrian way
Whitewash this clay
That's haunting my canvas
Would you stay?
I'd turn a dark corner with you.

But we could just wait
We'd wait and we'd wait until the visions abate
And then we'd pen a different story
One where your body is close to my body
And nobody in the world could put our story to bed
They'd be turning pages
But no

The scent of human resounds
Reels me in and over my heels
Your spirit steals
A bit of my essence each time
I'm caught up in the shortest of moments with you

I'd like to think of myself
As exercising all of my will
But then this thrill
It's out of my boundaries...this kill will spoil
Before I bring it home

So we send it off.
Sealed in a bottle; this lust
Adrift in a drink
Oh, what I'd do for a sip of you
But no.
